Modifications

A Court with continuing exclusive jurisdiction may modify the terms of an Order relating to possession and access to a child, custody, conservatorship, and support. Any party affected by an Order may file a suit for modification. The basic standard, in most instances, is that a party is required to show that there has been a material and substantial change in the circumstances of a child or party, and that the change would be in the best interest of the child.
